In 2023 I graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
Throughout my time at university, I have worked on many things ranging from simple programs from school, to big projects like creating a game using Unity and C#. Feel free to take a look at the projects I've worked on in the Works section.
My hope is to be able to make an impact on the world through software and coding, while building all the skills I can along the way.
My interest in computer science and technology in general started when I was young. Technology was all around me and as I grew up, it did too. I was able to experience that in real time, and I realized I wanted to be a part of it.
February 2024 - Current
Support and troubleshooting of software, hardware, and other related technology issues. Working on a team assigned to the International Monetary Fund, serving over 2,000 customers world wide.
August 2023 - February 2024
Creating and maintaining software, implementing new cybersecurity policies, upkeeping various systems, general technology troubleshooting.
October 2018 - February 2020
During my freshman and sophomore year and university I worked in the Tech Support Center of OIT as a computer Technician. There I worked with a team to intake, diagnose, and fix both hardware and software issues of the faculty and staff, as well as switching out old equipment around campus and setting up staff with newer tech.
August 2018 - May 2023
I Graduated from ISU in May of 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
May 2018
I graduated from my hometown's highschool in May of 2018 with a 3.6 GPA
Language / Software Profeciencies
When it comes to writing general progams for data reading and modification, Python is my go to. Not the first language I learned, but one that has stuck with me throughout the years.
Javascript is actually the first language I coded in. Throughout my time as a developer I've used it in numerous projects, so it's something I've gotten a lot of experience with.
Although C isn't as high level of a language like JavaScript or Python, it definitely beats them out in speed. Although not my language of choice, learning it has taught me a lot about programming.
I never had a proper introduction to C# until I started working on my game. I decided to use the Unity Engine, which uses scripts written in C#, so I've gotten a lot of self taught experience with it through that. I've also gotten a lot of experience coding with C# from making Windows applications using WinForms.
Towards the end of my senior year of college, I worked on creating a social media app using React for the front-end. It also makes use of REST api for sending and receiving data requests, as well as MongoDB as a backend storage of data.
I've deciced to dabble in game development, both for fun and to increase my coding and project management skills. So far, I've got two games in progress. One is a much larger idea that will take awhile to finish, while the other is a smaller game focusing on a few mechanics. You can find those on my GitHub.
During my job experience post-graduation, I've spent a lot of time with SQL as it was used for the system I worked on. I've come to learn how why SQL has become so popular as a database, as well as gain the experience to use it as needed.
During the second semester of my senior year, two of my classes included the use of MongoDB. One being a databases class covering a broader range, and the other using MongoDB to store data for an app created by me and my peers as a class project. I also created a social media app that utilizes MongoDB as the data storage.
Here are some of the projects I've worked on in my spare time. Feel free to look around.
JavaScript
React / Node.JS / MongoDB
Python, Pandas, Jupyter Notebook
